I see your point. We don't teach them how to read hieroglyphs or runes, and yes, I can see cursive going down the same path. I agree language and communication are changing. For me personally, I hope that the language of physical contact never becomes a thing of the past. I try not to lump individuals into a group based on their generation, but I have expressed distress at being forced to evolve by my kids and grandkids. I go kicking and screaming. I am not one for, "We've always done it this way," or, "But we've never done it that way before." I am reluctant to change, but I am willing to embrace it... if... it is absolutely necessary.
